Banff Tracks Posted

June 15, 2009
I recently finished a three week residency at the Banff Centre for the Arts in Alberta, Canada. I was there for the Workshop for Jazz and Creative Music run (masterfully, I might add) by the great Dave Douglas. Needless to say, it was a highlight of my musical career. I did a lot of composing while I was there. I had a chance to perform some of these new compositions with some very talented musicians. (Nate Renner-Guitar, Ron Hynes-Bass, Mark Segger-Drums) I have posted these live recordings here on my website. Please listen, and let me know what you think!

January 30, 2009
In the fall of 2008 the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Jazz Studies Area, a program I used to call home, released a full length Album entitled Molihua. All of the tracks are compositions or arrangements based on the experiences of myself and my fellow band members during a 2006 tour of China. This project has been in the works for some time and I am happy to say that it is now released. The second track on the album is a composition of mine entitled The Day is Full of Possibility. October 27, 2007
Great news! I'll be playing Alto Sax with Nees and Vos this Thursday at the legendary Bitter End in New York City. The band is stacked and I can't wait to get onstage with some of the best musicians in New York as well as from the midwest. The musicians include trombonist Wycliffe Gordon of the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra; Tenor saxophonist Dave Richards who has played with Alicia Keys, Billy Joel and Paul Simon; Cary Potts who has performed with the likes of Mary J. Blige and Elvis Costello; and Jason Craft who recently has been touring with Ray Charles' Daughter. If you are in town you must see this show!
